Positive Organ
Positive Organ - a chamber organ belonging to the reign of Louis XIII of France. Intended to remain in a fixed position, as opposed to smaller portable organs. The organ has three registers, the drawstops controlling them found on the right-hand side of the case. The painting inside the case door is of Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music and four angels. Records of the organ exist back to the 2nd century BC, but the origin back to Syrinx or panpipe goes back far further... Date: 1929
