Playing billiards in United Seamans Service club, 1944
A Chinese-American member of the United Seamans Service plays pool or snooker at the London club during Christmas, 1944. The USS was founded in 1942 to promote the welfare of American seafarers and their dependents, seafarers of all nations, US government military and civilian personnel, and other persons engaged in the maritime industry. There are only seven port centres open around the world today but there were many more during World War Two.
