Pigeons - A Red Helmet, Black Lahore and Yellow Spot
A portrait of three breeds of fancy pigeon illustrated inside their coop. The plain-headed Red Helmet presents its bicoloured plumage formation. To the right is the Yellow Spot, which has similar colouration, yet it has a distinctive spot on the front of its head, hence its name. As for the Black Lahore, originating from Pakistan, it is also significantly larger in size. Its markings are unusual, the most distinctive on its head and neck. Date: circa 1880s
