Steam locomotive Josiah Wedgwood at Cheddletom
The steam locomotive Josiah Wedgwood, which pulled the first preservation trains at the Cheddleton Railway Centre, Staffordshire. This was to develop into what is now the Churnet Valley Railway. Rescued from the nearby Wolstanton Colliery at Newcastle-under-Lyme, the locomotive was restored on site at Cheddleton by the early volunteers of the North Staffordshire Railway Company who named it Josiah Wedgwood after the local potter.
