Royal Air Force de Havilland DH. 98 Mosquito FB Mk. XVIII
Royal Air Force de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk.XVIII PZ467 Tse-Tse. Armed with a 57mm (6 pounder) Molins quick-firing gun, the first Mk.XVIII was flown on 25 August 1943. Twenty-seven were built seeing some action from 4 November 1943. At least one U-boat fell victim to the Tse-Tses cannon on 25 March 1944, but structural problems due to recoil limited their usefulness and lost favour with the advent of the RP-3 rockets (60-lb er). Date: circa 1944
