Ministry of Supply General Aircraft Limited GAL.61 TS515. A development of the GAL.56, the GAL.61 was a flying wing with no fuselage or fins incorporating a retractable tricycle landing gear. It had a raised cockpit for a pilot, offset to port, and a prone-position in the starboard wing for an observer. The GAL flying wing programme was cancelled after the crash of GAL.56/01 TS507 on 12 February 1948, which killed the famous glider pilot Robert Kronfeld. The GAL.61 was never flown!. Date: late 1940s
