Miles M. 18 Mk. 2 G-AHKY
The sole Miles M.18 Mk.2 G-AHKY (msn 4426) at White Waltham. This was the second prototype of the M.18, first flown at Woodley in November 1939 with B-class registration U-8, changed to U-0224 for Air Ministry acceptance trials. Impressed as HM545 for use by Miles as a communications aircraft and de-mobbed as G-AHKY post-war. Whilst racing in the 50s and 60s G-AKHY won the 1956 Goodyear Trophy, 1957 Osram Cup and the 1961 Kings Cup air races. Date: 1951
