Fiedler 1910 Eindecker

Fiedler 1910 Eindecker powered by a 50 PS Daimler engine. (PS= Pferd starke - a German equivalent of horsepower) Paul Fiedler was one of Austrias early aviation pioneers, designing and building his own aircraft. This aircraft was modified and improved throughout 1910 and 1911, with this photo probably around late 1910 / early 1911. Earier iterations had been powered by a fan Type engine, like an Anzani. With an early version, Paul Fiedler made two short flights in this machine on 10 July 1910, during the first Wiener Neustadt meeting, one of 15.2 seconds and one of 4 seconds. Date: circa 1911
