Print shows Jean-Charles Persil wearing ministers robes, with long saw-toothed nose with which he attempts to decapitate Charles Philipon who is lying on a stack of La Caricatura volumes with his hands bound. In impression 1a the saw-toothed nose drips blood, and a portrait of Louis Philippe along with a pear-shaped caricature appear on the bound volumes beneath Philipons arms. In impression 1b the portrait of Louis Philippe has been redacted and the red coloring of the blood has not been applied to the saw-toothed nose. Date 1832. Pere-scie.
