The Saloon, Blenheim Palace
A painting which showcases the grand interior of the saloon in Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, and a gift to John Churchill, the 1st Duke of Marlborough from Queen Anne in thanks for his victory at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. The room has a highly decorative arched door surround, set in front of a pillared wall with openings, which supports a sculptural display up high. Date: circa 1916
