Ravenscroft (Cleddon Hall), cave in garden
Ravenscroft (now called Cleddon Hall), Trellech, Monmouthshire, Wales, birthplace of Bertrand Russell (1872-1970), British philosopher and author. Seen here is an artificial cave in the garden where Russell's parents, Lord and Lady Amberley, were buried in 1876 and 1874 respectively, together with their daughter Rachel. Some time later, Lord Amberley's parents had the remains transferred to the family vault in the Bedford Chapel, St Michael's Church, Chenies, Buckinghamshire. Date: circa 1960s
