McDonnell Douglas F-15A-6-MC Eagle 72-0119 Streak Eagle (MSN 0019/A017)on display at the National Museum of the USAF, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. An early production F-15 modified for Operation Streak Eagle. Weighing 1, 800 pounds less than a production F-15A, the aircraft was unpainted, except the name Streak Eagle on both sides of the nose. Between 16 January 1975 to 1 February 1975 it set 8 world time-to-height records as part of Operation Streak Eagle - reaching an altitude of 98, 425 feet just 3 minutes, 27.8 seconds from brake release at takeoff and coasted to nearly 103, 000 feet before descending.
