The grand late-Baroque mausoleum of Marshal Maurice de Saxe (Maurice, Count of Saxony) (1777), created by Jean-Baptiste Pigalle in St Thomas Church (Eglise Saint-Thomas, Thomaskirche) in Strasbourg, eastern France. De Saxe became a Marshal and even Marshal General of France. He is best known for his deeds in the War of the Austrian Succession and especially for his decisive victory at the Battle of Fontenoy. He is honoured by the Walhalla Memorial. Date: circa 1900s
