King George V presenting the Victoria Cross Buckingham Palace, London to Mrs Warner for her son Private Edward Warner, Bedfordshire Regiment, who won the decoration for most conspicuous bravery, but had died in World War One, before receiving it. On the16th November 1916, the King presented Victoria Crosses to parents and next-of-kins of heroes who had won the decoration. Date: 16th November 1916
