Capture of Isfahan, Persian Constitutional Revolution
The capture of Isfahan by Bakhtiari Tribesmen during the Persian Constitutional Revolution (1905-1911). The revolution led to a change from from an absolute monarchic system to a parliamentary one, and paved the way for freer press, economic opportunities, and a new socio-political order. The Bakhtiari are a southwestern Iranian tribe, a subgroup of the Lurs tribe that today makes up around 6% of Iran's population. Date: 1909
