Photograph of the Venus de Gonon statue, which was unearthed by a farmer in the Loire district of France in 1938. At first it was believed to be an ancient Greek sculpture. Then Franco Cremonese, a local sculptor, claimed to have created it as a deliberate hoax. Date: 17/12/1938
