China Martyrs - Missionaries killed during Boxer Rebellion
The " China Martyrs of 1900" is a term used by some Protestant Christians to refer to American and European missionaries and converts who were killed during the Boxer Rebellion, when attacks targeting Christians and foreigners took place in northern China. This appears to be a still from a film purporting to show such a massacre in 1899 (with Britihs troops charging to the rescue), however this is highly likely to be a later recreation of the events. Date: 1899
