Winifred Arthur and Vera Clarke, female conductors
Winifred Arthur and Vera Clarke, who were appearing at the Trocadero in 1924 conducting an orchestra of thirty men. Vera had been a ballroom dancing teacher while Winifred was a violin soloist. Winifred appeared at the London Hippodrome the following year in their revue, The Jazz Mistress.
