A selection of women involved in British war services including the Womens Royal Naval Services, the Womens Auxiliary Territorials Service, the Red Cross, the Womens Auxiliary Air Force, the Womens Transport Service, the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry, the Womens Auxiliary Fire Service, the Womens Voluntary Service, the Womens Auxiliary Transport Service, the Womens Land Army and St Johns Ambulance Brigade. The accompanying article praises the " courage, devotion and determination of British womanhood", particularly the Womens Land Army in East Kent who continued to plough during raids by German dive-bombers, resulting in their secretary receiving an M.B.E.
