U. S. Troops depart for Mexico 1914
A line of US soldiers in uniform and full kit march onto a ship, surrounded by wooden boxes full of supplies and weapons, en route to Mexico. This was to stop a German merchant ship, Ypiranga, from delivering weapons to Huerta, and resulted in small skirmishes at Veracruz. The Ypiranga delivered the weapons at a different port and the US retreated, adding more tension to Mexican-American relations.
