The Fight for the Standard at the Battle of Pinkie, near Musselburgh, Scotland, 10 September 1547, during the War of the Rough Wooing, part of the Anglo-Scottish Wars. At one point, Sir Andrew Flammack, bearer of the Kings Standard, was surrounded by Scottish soldiers, but was rescued by Sir Ralph Coppinger, and was able to retain the standard, despite its staff breaking.
