Mock Trial - Mystery of Edwin Drood - Shaw to Chesterton
A mock trial held at Kings Hall, Covent Garden, London - an attempt to interpret the mystery of Charles Dickens unfinished novel The Mystery of Edwin Drood. The counsel, judge and jury concerned themselves with such questions as: " Did Jasper murder his nephew?" and " Who was Datchery?". The Judge was the writer G. K. Chesterton (1874-1936) and he is being addressed by Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950), who was part of the jury. Date: 1914
