Cap badge, other ranks, East Lancashire Regiment, 1914 (c).Within a laurel wreath, a sphinx resting on a frosted tablet bearing the burnished honour: Egypt, below which is a rose, having a smaller rose at the centre. On the base of the wreath, a frosted scroll bearing the burnished unit title. The whole surmounted by a monarchial crown. The rose is in gilding metal, the remainder of the badge in white metal. Brass slider fitting upon the reverse. Date: circa 1914
