Michael Collins, Irish leader, Chief of the Irish Free State Provisional Government and Sinn Fein Minister of Finance(1890-1922) drawn by Hazel, Lady Lavery, society beauty, artist, muse and wife of the painter Sir John Lavery. The Laverys lent their palatial house at Cromwell Place in South Kensington to the Irish delegation led by Michael Collins during negotiations for the Anglo-Irish Treaty in 1921 so knew Collins well.
