Lord Kitchener at peace conference that ended Boer War
Lord Kitchener (1850-1916) seated at the peace conference that brought the Boer War of 1899-1902 to an end. Kitchener became Commander-in-Chief of the British war effort in South Africa from 1900. Also among those present is General Louis Botha (1862-1919) who commanded the Boer forces during the war and in 1910 became first premier of the Union of South Africa. Date: 1902
