Londons return to noctural gaiety: dancing at the Trocadero
Londons return to noctural gaiety: supper licensed as in the pre-war days. Since licensing hours for the selling of alcohol were extended, Londons supper parties for theatre goers and others have returned to pre-war gaiety. Here, the Trocadero is shown with people enjoying dinner and dancing. Notable is Monsieur Paul Poiret, the great Paris costumier(pictured bearded, standing by a table in the left centre, talking to a seated lady), who was visiting London to study, criticise and suggest in matters of dress. The best dressed lady was discreetly awarded a voucher of 25 guineas at the end of the evening, as assessed by M. Poiret. Date: 1921
