London Pride by Gladys Unger and A Neil Lyons
Promotional postcard for London Pride by Gladys Unger and A. Neil Lyons. First produced at Wyndhams Theatre, 6th February 1916. Despite the traditional woodcut, the story is a contemporary one about a young costermonger, who enlists, leaving his donkey and barrow to his sweetheart. He is awarded the V. C, instead of being shot for desertion, as he had feared. This image is for the tour to Hippodrome, Margate, 23rd August 1917. It is strange that the title has been omitted for the tour, but it may have been added, with other information, in the blank space. Date: 1917
