The Headquarters complex at Lambeth SE1 had extensive vehicle and equipment workshops. Maintenance, repair and restoration work could be undertaken by highly skilled mechanics and craftsmen. Ladders were built at the workshops, and hose and ropes cut and adapted to meet the Brigades needs. Here two turntable ladders in the corner of the repair shop are undergoing maintenance
