LCC-LFB Cannon Street fire station, City of London
Appliance room of Cannon Street fire station, City of London, opened in 1906. By this time, fire brigade horses were being replaced by motorised fire appliances but some remained at this station and their stalls can be seen -- Cannon Streets turntable ladder was still horse drawn. However the pump escape (top right) was electric with the batteries under the engines bonnet and the pump is an early petrol driven engine. Note both the brass pole and the horse cart on the right
