Vernon Blythe Castle (1887-1918), and American wife, Irene (nee Foote), ballroom dancers, performers and dance teachers, pictured in 1917 when he was serving in the British Army in the Royal Flying Corps where he served with distinction. He was killed in a civilian air crash in 1918. Date: 1917
