Lieutenant-Colonel Grow, American surgeon, Russia, WW1
Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Cummings Grow (1887-1960), American doctor. He served as a regimental surgeon in the Russian Army for two years during the First World War. On his return from Russia in 1917 he joined the US Army Medical Service, served in the Second World War, and in 1949 briefly became first Surgeon General of the United States Air Force before his retirement. Date: circa 1917
