How Lieutenant Colonel Forbes-Robertson Saved the Western Li
Forbes-Robertson won the Victoria Cross saved the defence line by making a rapid reconnaisance on horse-back in full view of the enemy under machine gun and close range shell fire, as his own troops were falling back. When his horse was shot under him he continued on horseback. Later on the same day, troops on the left flank started to give way and he went to check and steady that line. Date: 15th June 1918
