The Monument of Liberty (Hurriyet Aniti, Abide-i Hurriyet) in the isli district of Istanbul, Turkey. A memorial in honour of the soldiers killed defending the Ottoman Parliament against reactionary forces in 1909. Inaugurated in 1911.The monument is situated on the high hill called Hurriyet-i Ebediye Tepesi (literally Eternal Liberty Hill ). Date: circa 1910s
