A land-girls dress
An example of work-on-land dress available from Shoolbreds of Tottenham Court Roadbuilt entirely out of bronze khaki drill, made of a three quarter length smock coat, slipped over the head and buttoned two thirds of the way down. It has strengthened shoulder pieces, like a mans shooting coat, and large practical pockets, and is accompanied by breeches, lacing at the knees, with adjustable waistband, side openings, and, again, two inside rapacious pockets. The suit cost 23 shillings 6d. The accompanying jolly little hat adds a crowning triumph at 2s. 11d. Date: 1918
