Lady Kindersley as a waste paper merchant, WW1
Lady Kindersley, formerly Miss Gladys Beadle, pictured near her home in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire, collecting waste paper with the aid of her children and two donkey carts. As the wife of the Chairman of the National War Savings Committee, Lady Kindersley does not believe in waste that cannot be turned to account. In this case, her collections were sold to benefit the Red Cross and the Fund for Soldiers Comforts. Date: 1918
