King George VI - Thanking British Children
A certificate from King George VI to the children of Great Britain on 8th June, 1946 - issued as a momento for sharing in the hardships and ultimate triumph during World War Two. The message concludes with the sentence:
" May these qualities (pride, courage, endurance and enterprise) be yours as you grow up and join in the common effort to establish among the nations of the world unity and peace."
The reverse of the certificate lists the principal events of the war and includes a space at the base for detailing the recipients war contributions an the contibutions of his/her family.
