King Edward VII at Biarritz
Two views of Biarritz during King Edward VIIs final stay there in 1910 shortly before his death in May. The top picture shows the Hotel du Palais, formerly residence of the Empress Eugenie and where the King stayed under the name of the Duke of Lancaster, with curious crowds gathered to witness the King. The bottom pictures shows the King resting undisturbed during a walk on the Plage, while children and their nurses gossip unconcernedly around him
