James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell
James Hepburn (1535 - 1578), 4th Earl of Bothwell, later third husband to Mary Queen of Scots. The marriage divided Scotland, and Bothwell was forced to flee the country to Scandinavia. He was eventually imprisoned in Denmark, where he died in chains in 1578. Date: 1466
