Irene Cholmondeley and stepmother by Madame Yevonde
Irene Cholmondeley (1913-?) and her stepmother by Madame Yevonde. She was the daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Lord George Hugo Cholmondeley. Her stepmother was formerly Ina Marjorie Gwendolin Pelly (?-1969), an amateur dancer who had recently organised a Pavane at a fete at Knole. Irene was making her debut in 1931. They are seen here looking into a small aquarium, for reasons unknown. Date: 1931
