Edwardian society women's beauty treatments 1906

Edwardian ladies believed that it was their duty as a woman to look beautiful. Showing a variety of photographs of society women enduring treatment to help repair from seasons ravages. 1. Reducing weight from incessant dinning-out, they would regularly take light baths in wooden cabinets. 2. To help from the discoloration of facial skin, women would sit in front of a radiation blue light. 3. Magnetic bath were you would lay full length with wires around you, while a therapists would send pulses from a large machine, this would help with strengthen and life-giving. 4. If your nose had gone out of fashion! It could be altered to suit your desire. 5. This equipment helped remove wrinkles by electrical massage. 6.Tonics to help with cheek, throat and neck giving bloom and roundness.

Women wearing black evening frock 1905

Women wearing a black evening frock of ninon, inset with arched motift of lace which at the hem resolve into large wheel effects, worked up with chenille and silk. The distinctive feature of the design of course is the quaint fulled chemisette and short puffed sleeves ornamented with narrow close quillings of black ribbon and a quantity of little butterfly bows centred by small paste diamond buttons. Date: 1905

Women's blouses 1905

Two models wearing charming blouses, available from Peter Robinson store. Model on the left wearing evening blouse of white chiffon spot, enhanced with draperies of soft lace and light embroideries of gold sequins. Model on the right wearing a bridge blouse, enchanting chine silk is employed, a rose melting into the background. At the back this takes an elegant habit basque movement the front opening on the tempering note of a chiffon and lace vest, ornamented with little silver tissue roses. Date: 1905
