Promotional postcard for Storm or The Battle of Tinderley Down by C. K. Monro. First produced at the Ambassadors Theatre, 13th August 1924. The title refers to the expression storm in a tea-cup. The elegant red-head is Storm, the mistress of a handsome and popular but pompous singer, who realises too late that she prefers a timid but goodhearted man. She fails to prise him from his wife. Date: 1924

Promotional postcard for St James's Theatre London. St James's Theatre (est. 1835) was a 1, 200-seat theatre located in King Street, at Duke Street, St James's, London. The elaborate theatre was designed with a neo-classical exterior and a Louis XIV style interior by Samuel Beazley and built by the partnership of Peto & Grissell for the tenor and theatre director, John Braham. The interior was decorated by the Frederick Crace Company. Date: circa 1900s

Novelty promotional postcard for So This Is London by Arthur Goodrich (Hudson Theatre, New York, 30th August 1922). First produced Prince of Wales Theatre, 11th April 1923.The play depicts an Anglo-American culture clash, in which a wealthy Anglophobic American shoe manufacturer arrives in London to discover his son is marrying the daughter of British aristocrats. Flyer touring to Theatre Royal, Nottingham, 17th March 1924. The wheel has been turned to show the American family at the top. Date: 1924
