Changing Role of Women in the UK

'The Girls reckon they can do anything without us men now-a-days - But can they?' Interesting postcard highlighting the changing role of Women in the UK workplace in the early years of the twentieth century, with a slightly anti-Suffrage and tongue-in-cheek approach. Although women can now be a Clippy (bus conductoress), Policewomen or Window Cleaner, they are still required to play a role in the production (and bringing-up) of offspring! So, not everything is possible 'without us men'... Date: circa 1907

Nice, France - Jetee Promenade

Nice - the the Jetee Promenade, which was dismantled by the Germans during WW2 for scrap iron because it blocked free fire from gun-batteries on the Promenade des Anglais. This building was situated opposite the Casino Ruhl. A very attractive postcard, utilising an artitic-influenced motif od a palette and paint brushes, a reflection on the popularity of this French region for artists of all shapes, sizes and preferences. Date: circa 1903
