First produced at the St. Jamess Theatre, 1st February 1906.The beefeater motif was used for the theatre because it was near St. James Palace. George Alexander, whose name is given on the right, was actor manager for a quarter of a century from 1891. The theatres telegraph address, is given below the image, as Ruritania, London in honour of the setting for The Prisoner of Zenda, one of Alexanders great hits. Date: 1906
