Horatio Nelson and Emma meeting during the Napoleonic war
Admiral Horatio Nelson and Emma Hamilton, famous for their love affair, pictured holding hands. However, Emma refused to divorce her husband, Hamilton, as both Emma and Nelson felt this would taint their image. In 1803 Nelson then left for the Napoleonic wars, whilst Emma was already pregnant with Nelsons second child. Illustration shows the couple with their second child who would tragically only live a few more days. Date: 1804
