Honor Dorothy Leigh by Madame Yevonde
Honor Dorothy Leigh (1892-1982) by Madame Yevonde. She was the only daughter of John Blundell Leigh. She had just become engaged to Lieutenant the Hon. Gerard Sturt of the Coldstream Guards, eldest son and heir of Lord Alington. However they did not marry, and Sturt died in November 1918 from wounds received in action during the First World War. Instead she married Major General Merton Beckwith-Smith in March 1918. Date: 1915
