Promotional postcard for Home Sweet Home by Frank Lindo. First produced at the Carleton Theatre, Greenwich, 18th May 1903 and Grand Theatre, Islington, 4th July 1904. The image shows Stephen, son of a lifeboat captain, and Joan, unknowingly a dukes daughter, in the fishing village of the first act. Bottom right, Joan at a party given by the duke. She is unhappy at the separation from Stephen, now her husband, and from her daughter. A central theme of melodrama was the enticement of an innocent girl to London, the modern Babylon Date: circa 1904
