Portrait of Helen McKie (1889-1957), artist and illustrator who worked for The Bystander and The Graphic magazines through the First World War and the 1920s. McKie drew many social scenes involving soldiers and also illustrated In England - Now column and Blanches letters in The Bystander. This portrait was featured in The Bystander at the time she was holding an exhibition of her work at the Brook Street Gallery in New Bond Street, London in 1919. Date: 1919
