Harpsichord by Arnold Dolmetsch
Included in the exhibition of Victorian and Edwardian decorative arts at the Victoria and Albert Museum : the first harpsichord to be made by Arnold Dolmetsch, dating from 1896. Dolmetsch (1858 - 1940) was a French-born instrument maker who spent much of his working life in England and established an instrument-making workshop in Haslemere, Surrey. The harpsichord depicted is now part of the Horniman Museum collection of instruments.
