Harold Maurice Abrahams, CBE, ) - a British athlete of Jewish origin. He was champion in the 100 metres sprint at the 1924 Olympics in Paris (July 7th), France (a feat made legendary in the 1981 movie Chariots of Fire ). Pictured here in 1928, when captain of the British Olympic team, announcing results to the crowd at the A.A.A. Championships at Stamford Bridge, shortly before the Amsterdam Olympics. Date: 1928
