H. L. Oakley - silhouette artist
Jolly silhouette self-portrait by H. L.Oakley (1882-1960), renowned silhouette artist, who depicts himself with a knapsack and suitcase (complete with H.L.O initials) on tour. Oakley divided his time between commercial work and setting up booths in department stores and seaside resorts where he would cut hundreds of portraits each year.
